Catie McGoldrick absolutely captures what it's like to be a teenager. Reading this book brought back so many memories, good and bad. Her characters are believable and very likeable. I would recommend this book to both young adults as well as parents. It shows with stark clarity the challenges our youth face in today's 'bullying' type of environment. Well done, Ms. McGoldrick!
While this is intended for young readers, I recommend for adults also. It will let you know what your teen is going thru and may help you resolve issues from your own teen years. The characters were believable and alive (at least most and even those that weren't were enjoyable.) Wish I had read it years ago.
Want a good picture of what it is like to be a teen these days?? You and your teen need to read this exciting new book by Catie McGoldrick. This author has written a book that tells a very realistic story on what it is like for a young teen to experience a first dance, first kiss, first boyfriend, and find out it isn't always positive. Even though these experiences are not everything hoped for, the young heroine discovers that life is wonderful anyway. The author presents a scenario involving bullying, peer pressure, and an appropriate way to deal with it. Look for this book to give your teen some insight to being empowered instead of victimized. Great read!!
I loved everything about this book - like able and engaging characters, intriguing twists and turns, and laugh-out-loud humor. Real insight into the world of today's teens, both tender and brutal. Also solid guidance on how to deal with bullying, rise above adversity, and claim your power to be who you are, even in a hostile environment. As enlightening and entertaining for parents as for Tweens and teens.
